Czech Technological Oscar Celebrates Innovators in Various Sectors

The inaugural Future Enterprise Awards by International Data Corporation (IDC) in the Czech Republic have recognized significant technological innovations across different sectors. These awards, presented in over 30 countries since 2017, celebrate advancements that enhance digital maturity and economic outcomes.

The winners of this prestigious award in the Czech Republic are:

  • The Czech National Museum: Honored with the “Best in Future of Connectedness” award for their interactive app, “National Museum in Your Pocket,” which enhances the visitor experience.
  • Škoda Auto: Recognized with the “Best in Future of Digital Infrastructure” award for their “Direct Quality Feedback” system, which has brought about improvements in their production line processes.
  • Antonín Hlavinka: Awarded the “Digital Leader of the Year” for his role as Deputy Director for Information Technology at the Faculty Hospital in Olomouc. His leadership in introducing digital innovations stood out.
  • Regional Directorate of Police of the Central Bohemian Region: Received the “Special Impact Award” for their digital service initiatives that benefit local residents.

The top winners from the first three categories have been invited to the IDC Summit in Singapore on October 31, 2023, where they will join the honorees of IDC’s Asia/Pacific Future Enterprise Awards.

Dana Vaníčková, IDC CEE Associate Vice President, Events, highlighted the importance of these awards in promoting digital development in the Czech Republic. She pointed out that while globally, around one-third of company turnover comes from digital products and services, only 7% of companies in the Czech Republic consider themselves fully digitalized, compared to 24% in Western Europe.

Vaníčková emphasized the need for digitalization across all sectors, including traditionally conservative ones like healthcare and public administration. She believes that achieving this requires extra effort, courage, and perseverance.
